FMT projects 2018

The STPES program is highly committed to foster the collaboration between academia and Industry, in the next list the students can find the projects offered in the course 2018. There are two types of projects, projects with companies and projects with Universities. In the case of the projects with companies the students make their internship period and the final master thesis in the same companies. Another possibility is making the Final Master Thesis in a Research group of a partner University. In 2018, 50 projects were offered to the students, 22 of that projects were coming from companies.

 

The procedure for selecting the FMT will be described below. It must be pointed out that only two proposals by university professor will be allowed, apart from those that the professors fill in the name of a company. All proposals must be added to the form by a professor of a partner institution that will be the co-advisor of the FMT.

 

The process for making the FMT selections is described in the following paragraphs:

 

  1. The FMT proposals from companies and universities will be collected using this form. Only two projects by Professor will be accepted even when a professor can add more projects to the form in the name of a company.  Projects from universities proposed later than December 31st at 11:59 pm. (Spanish hour) will not be accepted.  The companies can still propose projects until the day before the selection takes place.
  2. The second week of January the students will be summoned together to choose the projects.  Students will select in order according to their CGPA in the first year of the master, from the highest to the lowest. Once the process is completed, each company will be notified of the selections. A company has the right to decide to accept the student or not. If the company accepts the student, the assignment is final. Otherwise, the student needs to select another project among the remaining ones.
  3. The selection process will take place in a room at the University of Oviedo but there will be a connection through Skype video with all partner universities.
  4. The Academic Committee of the Master has the right to examine written motivated requests from the students and, if deemed necessary, to make exceptions in this selection procedure.
